1. Check Engine Light The Check Engine Light comes on when the TPS sends an incorrect reading to the computer. Because the TPS is monitoring the throttle plate, any malfunction will be registered. I pulled over and there was a little smoke coming from the inside of my motor. The small smoke vapors immediately went away and the jeep seem to keep running. I got back in my jeep and kept running it. I seemed to have lost about 20% of the power between 1st and 3rd and when I put it in 4th or 5th the motor revs but the RPS drop about a 1000 m2GMJ.
