Shedding 15g from the Clifton 8's, the Hoka One One Clifton 9 surprisingly lightweight 200g for such a visually substantial shoe, it isn’t at all cumbersome. In fact it provides just the right amount of bounce and softness to be an ideal running partner. The outsole is perhaps the area of the HOKA also made great improvements in the outsole. The shoe doesn’t feel that heavy on foot, but the weight has taken a little of the magic out of the Clifton. While the seamless upper looks good and feels nice against the foot, I find the upper to be a smidge warm.

The Clifton 9 is slightly lighter than the Mach 5, providing runners with a feather-light sensation during their runs. This reduced weight contributes to a feeling of agility and swift movement.
